Enhancing Professional Development through Reflective Teaching Practices Among EFL Teachers

چکیده :

This study investigates the impact of structured reflective teaching practices on the professional development of English as a Foreign Language (EFL) teachers. Focusing on a sample of 15 EFL teachers at a language institute, the research utilized a qualitative methodology, including semi-structured interviews, classroom observations, and analysis of teachers' reflective journals. The findings reveal that regular, structured reflective practices significantly enhance teaching effectiveness, responsiveness to student needs, and continuous professional growth. Key indicators of successful reflective practices included the use of reflective journals, digital tools for reflection, peer collaboration, and institutional support for reflection activities. Despite the positive outcomes, challenges such as time constraints and lack of structured institutional support were identified, highlighting areas for further improvement in fostering reflective cultures within educational settings. The study contributes to the existing literature by providing detailed insights into how reflective practices can be effectively integrated into EFL teaching, suggesting a framework for institutions to support such practices.
